नमस्ते (Namaste),

If you have come to this page means you are eager to learn Sanskrit and especially grammar. This page is to describe you about this website as well as give some of our friends a head start and inform about various resources available here to help you learn Sanskrit.

Although there is an assumption that you might already know how to read and write using Devanagri. If not a quick introduction is available at the following locations.

2.   First chapter of Antoine – Sanskrit Manual I.

This website is mostly a follow up on the classes taught by Shri Satish Karandikar called the AVG-Weekend class.

Br. Shankara’s classes

The AVG-Weekend classes were earlier started at AVG by Br. Shankara.

The recordings of the classes by Br. Shankara are available here.  click –> 2009 Recordings. These classes provide an introduction to the Sanskrit grammar along with reading. Some of the necessary basics have been covered in these classes.

Shri Satishji’s various classes

Subsequently, Satishji continued with those classes and the recordings of the same are available here. This website is a follow up on these online classes by Shri Satishji, the examples for the day are in keeping with the subject matter taught in the class.

Apart from this Saturday class, Satishji also teaches online Wednesday and on Thursday.

Webinar registration

You are requested to register for the various classes using the following links. Webinar software (by Citrix) is used for these classes. All you need is a computer with internet connection, a microphone and some headphones to listen to these classes. Please follow this link to register for the Webinar — click here

AVG-Sanskrit website

This AVG-Sanskrit website is an archive for the class notes, it also provides you one example for the day. Satishji painstakingly edits and confirms that all postings to this website, including comments are typo free and error free. Although if you see some errors feel free to send an email or comment on them.

Wednesday & Thursday class

Satishji also conducts the online classes on Wednesday and Thursday. Again you can find the webinar information at this location. click here
On Wednesday the topic is Antoine Book II, and on thursday it is grammar by Raghuvamsham.

Other Classes

There are various other classes that you can attend.
