Om. Sthira sukham asanam. Sthira, keep the legs fixed to the ground and stretch the back upright and relax the shoulders and hands by keeping them loosely. Squeeze the eyes one time and keep them lightly closed and sport a smile on the lips. And just be. Notice the effect of asana. It increases the alertness, makes the mind quiet and also cheerful and helps you to abide as pure being. You should avoid any movement of the body, because it becomes a distraction. Interestingly, as long as you keep the body still, the mind remains quiet. Asanam, just be. Just be. Being is freedom. If it is that simple, what could be the obstacle to freedom,? An impure mind. Look at the mind. Is there some jealousy in the mind? Could be there. It’s human nature. Need not be there, but could be there. Ill will, even hatred, may be some dislike for certain people. This is the the sense of impurity of the mind. I acknowledge these impurities, without condemning. I look at myself, and pray. May I be well, happy, and peaceful.  May I well, happy. I think of the immediate family members. One two, three, four. May these members of my immediate family be well, peaceful, and happy. You may not want to say “my family” not need for my, simply family members. May these family members be well, happy, and, peaceful. Visualize the larger circle of friends and relative. All people known to me well certainly some of them are likable and some for whatever reason are no likable. However my wish is may all  these people relatives and friends be well happy and peaceful. I send the message of peace and love. Not mechanically but with feeling I send a message of peace and love. I put my entire being in that message, message of peace and love. Visualize all people, neutral people, not known, the entire humanity, human beings irrespective of caste, creed, religion, region etc., may all the humans be well, happy and peaceful. WIll they be happy by my wishing so? The question is irrelevant. Karmnye vadhikaraste ma phaleshu kadachana. Send the message of love, that’s it. I do it because I love to do it, that’s all. Visualise the birds in flight or in the nests on the trees, that’s a happy memory. May all these birds be well, happy and peaceful! That’s a nice feeling. There is the beauty of message of love. Visualise the animals and other creatures roaming the earth, all kinds of life forms, may all these creatures be well, happy and peaceful! Thus, I establish the message of love in the heart. No other emotion except the message of love. Recollect the enemies, if not enemies, the adversaries whom you do not like, one, two, three, four even five, six. Now, bring out the feeling of love, try and pray, may these people, the people whom I have reason to dislike, that is the mind, see that. It is the mind which has reason to dislike, may these people be well, happy and peaceful! May these people be well, happy, and peaceful. Now I look at myself. May I be well, happy and peaceful. That’s not a desire because you’re not desiring any outside thing. May I be well, happy, and peaceful. Aum. shanti, shanti, shantih. Relax. Sit at ease. Slowly open the eyes.
