Aum Be aware of the environs without anything, any judgement, for example, when hear any sounds, don’t judge the sound as disturbance. By judging, it becomes a disturbance. In itself it is not a disturbance, it is what it is. So, a mind makes it a disturbance. By dropping the judgement, you are just aware. A similar thing can be practiced with regard cold or heat, just be aware of the environs without any judgement, without giving any label to any sound or any other aspect of the surroundings. When you do so, the mind remains quiet because the mind is deprived of its usual fodder. Just be aware. In such awareness, there is freedom. Be aware of the space around, the space that I move around, the space in which I move around. Generally, we are not aware of the space in which we move because the mind is busy, see that, see that how the busy mind makes us blind to some basic things. Just understand. Be aware of the space in which we move around. When you are aware of the space, the mind remains silent because there is no scope for any projection. You need not enforce silence. When you are aware of the space, mind becomes silent naturally, without any enforcement. This is how you explore yourself and it is called meditation. Be aware of the space around. Be aware of the open space, the open sky, in which the clouds move around. Akasha dhyanam. Imagine yourself sitting alone, all alone on the very top of a summit, sitting all alone and watching the space, the expansive space, sitting all alone on a summit and watching space, endless space all around. What is the space? The being, space is, the being without a form or a particular name, that is the space. Why the space appears empty or void? Because the mind believes to be is to have a form, a thing which has name or form alone exists, this is the wrong belief of the mind, because of that vasana, space appears as empty or not worth looking at. Truth is opposite, space is, naam-roopa unreal, space is. As I sit all alone, all alone on the summit, this is Buddha’s meditation, sitting all alone on the summit, leaving naam-roopa attachment aside, naam-roopa is unreal, set it aside and be aware of the infinite being of space all around. The infinite being of space all around, the infinite being of space all around is the body of god, if you will. Be aware of the space of planets and stars, the unimaginable depths of space of planets and stars, unimaginable depths of infinite space. Now, look within, you find the same space within. Be aware of your own inner spaciousness. Stretch the back upwards, press the legs to the ground, relax the shoulders and the hands, keep them loose, sport a smile and be aware of the inner spaciousness. Be aware of the spaciousness of your own being. Be aware of your own inner spacious being. Chinmaya sat. Get that expression, chinmaya - awareful, sat - being. That is what I am. Shivoham. Aum shanti shanti shantiH. Relax, sit at ease while keeping the eyes closed, don’t rush into movements or thoughts. Be awareful and relax. Slowly open the eyes. Aum
