AUM. Take a deep breath thrice. As I do that, the mental noise vanishes and the background awareness comes into the focus. See the distinction between mental noise verses the background awareness. Understand the background awareness as manso manaH, mind of the mind, in the words of the Shruti. Just Be. Prayer can come from the mind or it can come from the mind of the mind, the awareness. Now the prayer from the awareness which is the silence of the mind. In such a prayer, not only the desires and fears are absent but also the duality is absent. Prayer of Aum thrice, now. Aum...Aum...Aum...Merge in the silence and just Be. Now listen to the sounds nearby but listen with the ears and without the mind, meaning I am just aware of the sounds nearby without recognizing the sound as something, without giving a name, without labeling. Listen to the sounds nearby without the intervention of the mind, that is, listening to the sounds nearby without thought. As you do so, you can recognize shrotrayas shrotraH, the awareness behind the hearing, without the mental noise. Now listen to the sounds far off. Again, without the mental effort to recognize the sound, to give a name to the sound. Listen to the sounds far off, without thought, and of course I am awareness behind the hearing. Now listen to the silence, which is the background of all sounds. As you listen to the silence, as I listen to the silence, I am silent within and when I am silent, of course, I am very awareful. I AM. Be aware of the right leg. Now be aware of the inner energy of the right leg. Don't ask how. Be aware of the inner life(?) of the right leg. Take your time and be aware of the aliveness in the right leg, the entire leg. Be aware of the aliveness in the right leg. Be aware of the aliveness in the left leg, the inner life of the left leg. Feel the aliveness in the left leg. Feel the aliveness not with the head but with your entire Being. Feel the aliveness in the left leg with your entire Being. Feel the aliveness in the abdomen and the tummy. Feel, with your entire Being, the awareness in the abdomen and the tummy, and in the chest, in the right hand. Feel the life in the right hand, in the left hand, and in the head; neck and above. Do not allow yourself to be distracted, feel the aliveness in both the legs and both the hands at the same time. Feel silently, with your entire Being, the awareness in your entire body. Feel the inner life in the entire body, the aliveness in every cell of the body. The aliveness, which is the background of all notions and all thoughts, in which there are no emotions and there are no thoughts. The aliveness, feel it with your entire Being, the aliveness which is ever the present, in which there is no time. It is timelessly the present . In fact, aliveness itself is the present, live presence, awareful presence. Get submerged in the aliveness, go deep. Aum Shanti Shanti ShantiH. Relax, sit at ease by keeping the eyes closed.
