Aum. A deep breath three times. The prayer, entitative in nature, is always very simple, having a very small number of words, connected with the breath so that its movement within, movement towards within. We take a deep breath and while exhaling we mentally chant Aum, a long Aum, which merges in silence, that is one round, three such rounds makes the prayer. Now, Aum one, Aum two, Aum three. Generally, the mind tends to anticipate and expect the next, what next? That mode of the mind always waiting and anticipating, takes us away from the present moment awareness. To curb this habit of the mind, I do not wait. In meditation I do not wait for the next instruction. I do not anticipate or expect anything. I remain   silent without waiting, without anticipating or expecting, thereby, I remain in the present moment awareness. Present moment awareness is meditation, without waiting, utterly devoid of any anticipation or expectation, I just Be. Be aware of the surroundings, be aware of the sounds near and far. I do not any name to any sound, I am aware of the sounds, near and far, without naming, without labeling as disturbance etc. Just be aware without giving a name or label.   It is very interesting to note that when I am aware of the sounds near and far, without any mental projection, I am silent within. See the connectoin between awareness and silence. I am aware of the sounds near and far, near and not so near, without any label, without any projection. There is a deep silence within. Be aware of the environs, surroundings, I accept the surroundings, heat or cold, comfortable or not so comfortable, I accept. I accept all sounds, I accept the people as they are. I do not have any agenda for anyone, absolutely no agenda for anyone. I do not try to control anyone. I accept the world, the society. I accept the weather, the nature. It is very interesting to note that as I accept things, people, sounds, weather, nature, the world in general, there is silence within. Acceptance is meditation, awareness is meditation. In silence is meditation. When I am aware and accept, I remain inwardly silent, which is meditation. Meditation is not an action, it is not a doing, it is the ceasation of all action including thought. Thought is ascertaining action. When you allow all action to drop, there is meditation. Meditation is the silence of the Being, not doing. Therefore, there is no reward for meditation. Meditation is its own reward. Meditation is the fragrance of the Being, the love of the Being. I am, I love to be. I am, I love to be. Aum Shanti Shanti ShantiH. Relax, sit at ease keeping the eyes closed and relax. Try to keep the awareness as well as you can. Slowly open the eyes.
