AUM Shree Ganeshay NamaH Shree Gurubhyo NamaH Sthira sukhamasanam. Be aware of the posture, be aware of the mahamudra and contemplate on acceptance. See the challenge involved in acceptance. Learn to accept small things then it grows. Stretch the back, be aware of the back, neck and the head, internally in a straight line. Shoulders are relaxed, sport a smile on the lips. The smile signifies two things, one - the source of happiness is in me, to begin with and then finally the source of happiness is myself, thereby, putting an end to seeking happiness in the world. World continues to be what it is but I stop seeking happiness in the world. That is a pre-condition for the opening of inner springs of happiness. Second, samattvam, sameness. As I sit in meditation, the body is sama, symetric, samam kaya shirogrimam, the trunk of the body, neck and and head are sama. The breath is sama, the mind has to become sama, i.e yoga, samattvam yoga uchyate equanimous words, the opposites of life. To be able to smile in the face of any opposites in life, like sukha-dukha, dharma-adharma etc. samattvam yoga uchyate. Be aware of the eyes which are lightly closed. Awareness without thoughts is the awareness itself, the pure awareness, that is the foundation of entire thought-life. Abiding in that awareness is aasanam, sthira sukhamasanam. Be aware of the posture, be aware of the sensations with the seat, the clothes. What is body ? Is it not a constant stream of sensations ? Watch the breath, do not exercise any will, do not regulate the breath, do not judge the breath, it is neither good nor bad. Find out that sense of touch at the tip of the nostrils and stay with that sense of touch. You may stretch the back if need be. The moment mind digraces, you lose that subtle sense of touch, you bring the mind back. But if you get interested in any particular stream of thoughts then you may forget the sense of touch, the thought will pull you away. Don't allow that to happen, being aware is the trick. Do not fall asleep or even do not become sleepy, remain alert. Stretching the back is the trick to remain alert. Do not get bored by the silence and peace, learn to love the breath, learn to worship the breath. To improve the absorption, introduce in-out. In is life and out is death, life-death, life and death are always together. In is life, out is death. They happen to the body, not to myself, life and death do not happen to the awareness which is myself. Nothing ever happens to awarenss, life-death. Sukha-dukha, in is sukha, out is dukha. Again sukha-dukha happen to the body-mind, sukha-dukha. Sukha-dukha constantly alternate. They happen to the body-mind, not to the awareness, nothing ever happen to the awareness. In-out. Drop in-out, just watch the breath. Aum ShantiH ShantiH ShantiH. Relax, sit at ease, keep the eyes closed, be aware of the breath. Try to deepen the inner awareness. Slowly open the eyes.
