AUM Shree Ganeshay NamaH Shree Gurubhyo NamaH Sthira sukhamasanam. You always approach the posture, asana, with the freshness of the present moment. It is very simple, not critical, the asana   is not from the memory of earlier experience, it is now. As I stretch the back and sit straight and see that the body is stable and also the mind is stable, I study the body-mind like I study the book. I am the Being, the awareful Being, sthira that is sthira. Obviously Being, the self-shining Being is all peace, shanti. Also try to see the Being is love, I love to Be. The self-shining Being is love, I love to Be. Try to understand that this love to be alone is reflected unto things and relations of the world. I love to Be. The love of Being is true meditation, I love to Be. Do not try to rationalise or explain either the love or the Being, just Be and be the love of Being. I love to Be. This is called asanam. Be aware of the hands in the lap which are in mahamudra and visualize the significance of the mahamudra. It is the acceptance of what is without any mental resistance. Acceptance of the entire past is a gift of Ishwara by dropping all the lables of success and failure, you try. The mind may revolt but yet you may try and finally the readiness to receive from Ishwara, the higher power that is driving my life. The future, receive the future as it unfolds day after day, hour after hour. You can make it even more focus to receive Ishwara krupa, the grace of  Ishwara, minute after minute. Sharanam prapaddye, that is the mahamudra. Remember bhagwan Buddha's posture of meditation. Recollect the imperceptible smile on the lips. You notice that you are doing the same, the inner smile. Notice the effect of the smile, the muscles of the face are nicely relaxed and the mind is, mind becomes cheerful. Mind always tries to find a reason to be unhappy, to be frustrated. It is trying to resist something or the other always, see that. That is the mind not you, no reason to be frustrated about it. It is enough reason to smile. Immediately mind becomes cheerful, cheerful and quiet. You may try, even when mind is unhappy or sad for whatever reason, become alert and smile, manage a smile, the sadness will not be the same. The mind may yet be sad but still it is not the same, there is no identification when you smile. You have to watch the mind, play with it, make it a sport. Name of the sport is meditation, the inner smile. Watch the eyes, keep the irises motionless in the center of the eyes. This is a beautiful portal to the inner awareness. Don't get distracted, be focus on the irises in the center of the eyes. Coupled with the inner smile and a straight back, this is a great meditation. A slight movement of the eyelids is not uncommon, but the irises do not move and the mind doesn't move. It is very interesting to note that when the mind is still, as it is now, you are fully present, unless you are sleeping. Slowly stop watching the eyes and just Be. Aum ShantiH ShantiH ShantiH. Relax, sit at ease. Try to cultivate that inner quietude, vedanta is not activism, vedanta is quietism. Slowly open the eyes.
