Meditation 2 - ASANA
ॐश्रीगणेशायनमः।I prostrate unto Lord Ganesha with the sense of devotion and surrender, inorder to overcome the mental proclivities, which tend to obstruct the meditation. Even as I pray so I see the mind becoming quiet. श्रीगुरुभ्योनमः। I pay my obesience to the saints and sages of the world, who blessed the mankind with the system of YOGA. स्थिरसुखमासनम्।As I sit in the posture, keeping the back straight by stretching the back, eyes partially closed, with a smile on the lips, hands in the lap with the palms upward. Just be deliberate in every aspect of the ASANA.
The body remains stable - STHIRA. Mind becomes quiet - STHIRA. When the mind is quiet, meaning no thoughts, no flow of thoughts. What happens to the mind? The mind resolves. Where? In myself - in the sense of being, viz. the same as the awareful being. The awareful being, in which there is no movement. Thought is a movement. The awareful being in which all thoughts resolved. Movement belongs to the body and the mind. The aware-full being has no movement whatsoever. The aware-full being free from all doing, all motion, is STHIRA. Just Be. You do not need an effort to be. But you need to be alert so that you are not distracted. Therefore be alert and Just Be. The being is STHIRAM. The solid rock-like background of the mind. Just Be. STHIRAM.
Watch the eyes, be aware of the eyes which are partially closed. Due to the eyesight many forms, shapes appear and disappear on the being. All these shapes that I see, day after day, do they leave a mark? do they make an impression on the being? No. The being is ASPARSHAH. It upholds the forms without being affected. Just Be. Be aware of the eyes, eyesight. Now the eyesight is not operating, the seeing of forms is absent. Does this absence of forms make the being incomplete? Lacking? Just imagine, suppose there were to be no forms whatsoever. Imagine that there are no forms at all. Is the being deficient? Do not answer the question, just explore. The being without any forms.
Be aware of the ears, a faculty of hearing. Suppose, I were deaf, with no hearing atall. Explore without the cognition of any sound, explore without any sounds. The being without any names. The being without any words. The being without any language. Is the being deficient without words? The being is ASPARSHA. Never ever touched by the names and forms. Just Be. Being without any names and forms is ASANAM. . स्थिरसुखमासनम्.
ॐ।शान्तिःशान्तिःशान्तिः॥
Relax. Sit at ease. Keep the eyes closed. And just be. Slowly open the eyes.
