AUM Watch the mind. I drop all the sense of past from the mind, stop looking at myself as a historic entity. I drop all imagination or expectation about the future. In fact, I drop all sense of future. Thus I fix myself in the present, now, now. That should eliminate most of the self-identification. I Am now. Now I am entirely free to love and pray God and also to look at myself. I Am now. Shree Ganeshay NamaH. I seek one thing from Ganesha to remove the obstacles created by the mind to know myself, Shree Ganeshay NamaH, Shree Gurubhyo NamaH. I am greatful to the acharyas, sthira sukhamasanam. I recognize the glory of asana, the posture, it helps to stabilize the mind, to collect the mind. Also asana is sama, it helps to gain the status of sama, the natural state of sama. See the sameness inherent in the posture, sama. Look at the breath, it is sama. Sport a smile, faint smile of Buddha, that is the inner smile of being sama. The mind, when it is calm, is sama, samoham. I see that I am sama. This realisation of oneself as sama, I am sama, free from all opposites confers a power to face the events of life with equanimity, samoham. This sameness is yoga, samattvam yoga ucchyate, says the blessed lord, samoham. Watch the body, try to disassociate the sense of I from the body. Withhold the sense of I, don't give it to the body, this body, this body. Find out where is this identification more prominent. Begin with the lower portion of the body. Obviously it is this, it is the non-I, no difficulty in disidentifying. Come to the middle portion. My hunger, my heart, some problem is there, identification problem, try again to withhold the sense of I. Come to the head, neck and above, yeah this is the me. Here is the problem of identification, most prominent. I see that the body identification is entirely cerebraral, it is the product of brain cells. The brain cells are programmed to cheat, to cheat through identification. I have to undo this genetic program of cheating practised by the brain cells. Now you see whether the identification is less heavy. This brain, this head. Now look at the entire body as this body. Remember the blessed lord's words, 'idam shariram kshetram', this body, the field of experiences, kshetram. Opposites happen in this field, to this field, kshetra. Nothing ever happens to me, the kshetragnya, the knower of the field. Sukha and dukha, pleasure-pain, happen to this field, kshetra. Nothing ever happens to me, kshetragnya. Kshetragnyoham. Bhagwan says this is the jnana, this is the wisdom. Kshetragnyoham. Focus on the eyes, see that the eyelids are not pressing. Be silent, automatically happens, keep the smile and just Be. The mind may digress, with the smile bring it back and focus on the eyes and just Be. Don't become impatient with silence. Aum ShantiH ShantiH ShantiH. Relax, sit at ease and relax. Slowly open the eyes.
